THE JOB AT A GLANCE

Our Carbon Health Launchpad Internships are designed to introduce students looking to break into product to Carbon Health’s culture and business. As an intern, you’ll get hands-on product experience and be part of a team that is disrupting the future of healthcare. Throughout the 10-12 week program, you will rotate through different projects, working on innovative projects and assignments that touch a variety of teams. Additionally, our internship experience goes far beyond your assigned job with potential clinic visits, community involvement, exposure to Carbon Health executives, team-building socials, and other networking events to further your development.

Some Areas You’ll Work On

In this role, you will join a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, data scientists, and operations to build technology that puts patients first.

Delightful user experiences: Be a key contributor to our patient and provider experiences. Build out tools for patients that help them manage their health and live a more fulfilled life using hardware, data, and clinical programming.

Programs: Work on our longitudinal care programs that include diabetes, hypertension, metabolic health, and more

Patient Experience : Contribute to our patient-facing consumer app which touches the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients monthly, working to help improve existing features and build new ones

Hardware: Build integrations with wearable devices like CGMs that power our data-based approach

Digital care: Craft features that redefine what digitally-enabled care feels like

Data-centric: Use data to understand how patients use our product

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with product, engineering, and design to facilitate product definition and design, including prototyping and UI/UX, by gathering product requirements for Carbon’s services, including mobile experience, data visualizations, messaging, and more
  • Understand and empathize with patients, clinicians, billing and support staff; feel their pain, and help them resolve their pain points, via in-person visits and other sources
  • Reason about problems facing patients and providers from first principles through direct experience, deep research, and observation, and come up with original approaches to patient experience, technology, compliance, regulation, communication, and more
  • Pull context across design, engineering, data science, operations, billing, and clinical teams in service of feature development
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the Carbon Health technology as well as market and competitive landscape
  • Create launch plans and deliverables to support our commercial efforts

  • You value the collective wisdom that has been accumulated by people who have been doing a particular job for a long time
  • You put yourself in a position of insight
  • You genuinely care about solving the problem we are trying to solve
  • You are excited to work with a distributed team and understand the need for high levels of communications and self-direction
  • Actively pursuing a master’s degree in business, engineering, design, or related field
  • Must be authorized to work in the US and not require sponsorship in the future
  • Based in the US. We are remote-friendly but have a preference for candidates in the Bay Area, Austin, or New York City
