The Opportunity

Flexport’s Chief Information & Security Officer (CISO) organization is​ looking for a passionate, results oriented Intern, Technical Program Management with a Security and Enterprise Business Technology focus. In this role you will learn and contribute to the delivery of complex technology programs and projects in a diverse environment with multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders and multiple resource pools, and ensure the artifacts from these programs, projects and the corresponding operations meet the objectives of Security and Enterprise Business Technology.

Under the direction of a Technical Program Manager, you must be able to participate in the initiation and management of programs with a solid understanding of the underlying Security and Enterprise Business Technology objectives, communicate clearly among stakeholders and team members, and have a consistent track record of delivery. You are proactive in learning and supporting the creation of a program roadmap, following through on project plans, identifying program/project dependencies and headwinds, facilitating resolutions, and can handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You are able to, with direction, curate and present relevant data and artifacts that facilitate informed decision making.

You will:

  • Execute an assigned project, with the aim of learning how technical program management supports the execution of trustworthy and scalable enterprise business technology solutions, and present the final work product of said project to supervisor and/or other project stakeholders
  • Participate in all scrum ceremonies, including but not limited to planning, grooming and estimation, daily standup, retro and demo
  • Participate in the creation of documentation for business requirements, epics, stories and other artifacts that enable enterprise technology solution implementation and enhancement
  • Participate in the continued maintenance of a roadmap for enterprise business technology, including documentation of scope and schedule
  • Gain a robust understanding of Agile methodologies, applied in practice to complex and high-value business problems and opportunities
  • Gain a robust understanding of the intersection of Security and Enterprise Business Technology objectives in the mission of making global trade easier for everyone

What you’ll need:

  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Product Management or related field with an expected graduation date between December 2022 and June 2023
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Proven ability to demonstrate leading project teams and navigating through ambiguity
  • Ability to pivot and adapt to change quickly
  • Have a bias to action. Be driven, be organized, be resourceful with a “can-do” attitude, and demonstrate the ability to thrive in operating through ambiguity
