Founded in 2009 by Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, Andreessen Horowitz (known as "a16z") is a venture capital firm in Silicon Valley, California, that backs bold entrepreneurs building the future through technology. We are stage agnostic: We invest in seed to late-stage technology companies, across the consumer, enterprise, bio/healthcare, crypto, and fintech spaces. a16z has $28.2B in assets under management across multiple funds, including the $2.9B Bio + Health funds, the $3.1B Crypto funds, and the Cultural Leadership Fund.

We’ve established a team that is defined by respect for the entrepreneur and the entrepreneurial company building process. We’ve invested in companies like Airbnb, Coinbase, Databricks, Devoted Health, Figma, Lyft, OpenSea, Stripe, Substack. Our team is at the forefront of new technology, helping entrepreneurs and their companies impact and change the world.

The Role

The a16z Seed Startup School is a set of classes and a companion library that helps seed stage startup founders build technology companies. When we make seed-stage investments, we invite founders to join our classes and give them access to our library of content with relevant, time-tested, and practical advice on company building.

As the a16z Seed Startup School Program Coordinator, you will help “keep the trains running on time” by scheduling events and meetings, keeping our systems up to date with the latest data, creating and improving processes, building and running reports, and staying coordinated with the broader team that serves seed founders.

To Join Our Team, You Should Be Excited To

  • Plan and execute virtual and in-person classes. Sometimes solo and sometimes in conjunction with the a16z events team, you’ll make sure our virtual and in-person events run smoothly. You’ll make sure all attendees and instructors know when/where the event is, come prepared, and know what next steps (if any) are.
  • Manage calendars. You’ll manage the day-to-day calendars for the head of the startup school as well as the school itself (scheduling times and venues for the founders).
  • Manage the curriculum and working to-do list for new classes. Work with the seed startup leader to keep track of founder needs and plan future classes to address those needs.
  • Keep the library up to date. Work with other teams at a16z to schedule, create, and publish content for our Seed Startup Library which will comprise documents, templates, and recorded videos. Manage access controls so only seed founders can access the content.
  • Create, run, and improve reporting. You’ll help create the right reports, so we can make the best decisions for the program informed by up-to-date, accurate information. Most of these will be in the form of Salesforce or Looker reports.

  • Loves organizing and encouraging others to be organized
