Product Design Intern Job Description

Sleeper is building the leading platform to connect friends over sports. Our mission is to create a digital playground for friends to hang out, play games, chat, send memes to each other, and more!

Our flagship product, fantasy football leagues, are used by over 4 million people internationally, and we’re constantly adding new games, social features, and functionality to our ecosystem.

Over 59% of Americans claim to be sports fans, and we understand that not every sports fan is hardcore and glues themself to the TV on Sundays. We’re a social sports app that’s designed as much for the casual sports fan as we are for the die-hards. That’s why we’re looking for talent that doesn’t necessarily need a strong knowledge of sports – just be ready to immerse yourself in the space!

About the Design Team

We’re an agile group of designers passionate about building high-quality, intuitive experiences, but we’re also a tight-knit group that likes to have fun.

• We are willing to pick up any sports or try out new computer games together, for the purpose of “research”

• We can see design everywhere and every day – we even had a team trip to Las Vegas for a design trend workshop

• We’re actually work hard and play hard – we had a team-building trip to the spa

1. Are you passionate about tackling design problems of all sizes – whether it be pushing a few pixels or designing whole new products?

2. Are you a motivated, quick learner who is willing to pick up new skills?

3. Do you enjoy exploring creative solutions and push off the boundaries before you settling on an option?

4. Are you willing to embrace uncertainty and reiterate repeatedly in order to build industry-leading user experiences?

You’ll hit the ground running

• Kickoff projects with mini design-sprints with fellow designers to conceptualize new ideas.

• Take it to the end-zone with high-fidelity mocks and prototypes so engineers can ship your pixel-perfect designs.

• Tackle design bugs and upkeep the Sleeper design system and UI patterns.

• Come up with creative marketing ideas that will blow our users’ minds.

We’re scouting for team players who…

• Are pursuing a degree in a related field; or new grads with around 1 or less years of experience.

• Understand fundamentals of UX, interaction and visual design and pay attention to detail.

• Have strong collaboration skills and can work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Extra points if you…

• Have experience designing for cross platform products (Web, android, iOS)

• Know how to use Figma

• Have dabbled in motion graphic

• Understand basics of HTML/ CSS
