REI is looking for an Innovation Investment Analyst Intern to contribute to REI’s success by working as part of a cross-functional team and actively participate in day-to-day functions of the Customer Innovation team. Throughout the course of your internship experience as an Investment Analyst Intern, you’ll join the effort to build net-new businesses that propel the Co-op toward its ambitious growth targets. Our test & learn methodology requires us to think and work differently, rapidly sizing and validating customer problems with evidence on the road to product-market fit.

The Investment Analyst will help in the exploration of new opportunities to grow the portfolio using both quantitative and qualitative analysis to support due diligence efforts and gain insight into industry trends.

Duration

• 10 -12 weeks (mid- June to September)

Job Functions Include

• Conduct secondary market research and industry analyses to size customer problems and marketplace opportunities; Provide insights and recommendations for new innovation opportunities
• Collaborate with Innovation partners and business leaders to plan and execute consumer, technology, and business model studies; develop white papers
• Synthesize findings into reports to effectively communicate insights
• Standardize reporting to maximize consistency and comparability across different investment thesis areas

Qualifications And Expectations

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Decision Sciences, Marketing with a Research emphasis (or related field), or a recent graduate (within 6 months)
• Exceptional collaboration skills, with track record of successfully partnering to consolidate information from various sources, including feedback from others to reach sound conclusions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and distill key learnings from multiple data sets and information
• Career interest in innovation (corporate or startup environments, or venture capital)
• Advanced Excel skills: Tableau experience preferred but not required
