The role

SoFi is seeking an Investment Strategy Analyst Intern to support the team’s market and economic content, and participate in thematic investment discussions that drive content generation. This will include analyzing the macro environment and its effects on capital markets, and helping the team produce data-driven market education and insights. Other responsibilities will include creating charts, data tables, and presentation materials for internal and external audiences. Given the public-facing nature of the content, this role requires strong communication skills and an interest in connecting with investors via written, verbal, and social media platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Perform analysis on economic trends including, but not limited to, major economic indicators such as growth, inflation, central bank policy, and labor markets.
• Follow and provide insight on market movements across regions, size categories, styles, and sectors.
• Produce timely charts/tables on investment-related topics to share via social media platforms or to use in written pieces and presentation materials.
• Review third party research and support the Investment Strategy team in understanding the consensus view and out-of-consensus view of various metrics.
• Assist in building a performance reporting dashboard for Robo-Advisor models.
• Assist in building and updating chart library for evergreen use across Investment Strategy content.
• Participate in development of topics and themes to cover in thought papers and podcasts.

What You'll Need

• Enrolled in a MBA program.
• A passion for our mission of helping people achieve their financial goals.
• Strong analytical abilities (SoFi is a data-driven company) and proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets, Powerpoint/Google Slides, and SQL.
• Proficiency in Tableau will be highly preferred.
• Effective communication.
• Ability to work independently and a strong sense of ownership (Methodical, self-starter, hands-on, willingness to get into the details).
• Attention to detail.
• Organized.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn new skills, tools and process.
