New year; new talent! It’s time to announce one of our favorite programs: Costanoa’s Summer Access Fellowship. We firmly believe that diverse groups make better decisions (and investments!) and want to help the venture industry look more like the world we live in. So we created this program back in 2015 and have had eight amazing Fellows so far. You could be our next – click here for the job description and application, which is due in to us by Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022.
The program is planned as a summer internship for graduate students with some business experience, but we’re open to all candidates with a demonstrated love of technology and entrepreneurship.
Our Fellows work side-by-side with our investment team on every part of the venture process: sourcing, due diligence, market research and supporting our portfolio companies. They report to one of our partners and get to work with everyone on our close-knit team. Here’s what last year’s Fellow, Marina Elmore, had to say about her experience:
My Access Fellowship was invaluable. I got to see pitches from 40+ companies, which gave me a nuanced understanding of how companies are founded and funded. I gained a much better understanding of the VC space with the incredible support of the Costanoa team, and I absolutely loved the final research project – mine was a deep dive into Web3. I’m not sure what other internships/fellowships would allow you to become an “expert” in a space in such a short amount of time. After the fellowship I feel like I could be a competitive applicant for a full-time role in venture capital. As someone who wants to work at startups after business school, I saw first-hand how important it is to be backed by an excellent VC team. I think the Costanoa operating platform is unparalleled and I learned so much from the entire team.
Consider becoming our latest awesome summer Access Fellow. All of our past Fellows became integral members of our team, added important voices to our portfolio and remain in our ecosystem. As important, they’re all still in tech and/or venture.
