embedded/capital is a new berlin-based early-stage venture capital firm solely focused on fintech established by the founders of finleap. Built by serial entrepreneurs and former operators, we’re a hands-on team of domain experts that support our founders through our capital and expertise all across Europe.

We started the firm with the philosophy that the best culture and best performance would be achieved by growing people from within. You will play a critical role in supporting the firm’s due diligence efforts, monitoring and assisting our portfolio companies, researching investment themes, and helping source new deals.

As our portfolio expands, we are looking for an all-star to join our investment team as an Analyst (full-time) based in Berlin to be fully involved in all stages of sourcing, investment and portfolio management.

Tasks

• Assisting venture capital investments end-to-end: from scouting of startups and initial screening through due diligence, deal negotiation, and closing;
• Analyzing investment opportunities with a focus on the market, team, technology, scalability and business relevance;
• Assisting in the monitoring and supporting of portfolio companies after the investment;
• Building your own pipeline of potential investment targets by engaging with startup founders and investors at conferences, pitch events, and via desk research;
• Building and maintaining a network of investors, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem players;
• Preparing deep-dive analyses of interesting areas of investment, industry trends or competitive analyses.

Requirements

• Passion for technology, early-stage investing and the startup scene, either demonstrated through your career history or by your deep involvement with the startup ecosystem outside of your job;
• Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and strong independent work ethic;
• Strong academic background (Bsc. or Msc.) from a top-tier institution in a discipline related to finance, BA, mathematics, etc.;
• Keen to explore new technologies and businesses providing next-level financial services;
• Delivering high-quality work toward deadlines;
• Eager to listen and learn, build educated opinions, and make smart decisions;
• Both a team player and able to work independently.
