Job Description

Symphony does not have a formal internship program. There are no plans to create a formalized experience in 2022. Ideally, interns would become a hiring pool for full-time positions and rotation programs An intern’s experience has a direct, visible, and long-standing impact on Symphony’s employer brand and can impact our future hiring abilities. As a result, all internships should be meaningful and carefully planned. Core elements of successful internships include:

Structured around a defined project with a start and end deliverable, Manager who is located in the same location, paired with a “buddy” who is on the same team and ideally in the same location who is responsible for helping the intern navigate the day-to-day.

Responsibilities

Internships must be structured to include:

  • Project-based work with a beginning- middle- end outcomes tied to a larger business need
  • Work and experiences that provide visibility into the business and corporate environment
  • Exposure and opportunities to further develop and understand business communication, working on and across teams, global and remote work environments, business acumen.
  • A thoughtful and detailed on-boarding plan
  • A plan to provide the intern visibility to broader Symphony, its people, its culture
  • A direct manager who is located in the same location as the intern, who has proven an effective lead/manager/mentor, who had the time to coach and direct the mentor.
  • Weekly, at minimum, check-ins with manager
  • Assigned buddy who is accessible to be a daily resource to help the intern navigate company and deliver on projects
  • Access to resources, systems and data required to complete role
