Diversity, Equity, Inclusion. We strongly value and are looking for students from diverse backgrounds (ethnicity, gender, sexuality, socio-economic status, etc) and candidates from underrepresented groups.
Coding Projects & Achievements (in or out of the classroom). We are looking for students with a strong track record of coding education and achievement. This may be demonstrated in different ways. Strong classroom performance and high grades is one way to demonstrate coding ability. But showcasing projects (even hobbies) is equally valued.
Initiative, Drive, Motivation & Interest in Startups. A startup internship may be less structured than a student is used to and will require a degree of motivation and initiative especially in a remote environment. We are looking for students that exhibit strong interest in the startup world and demonstrate an internal drive to do great work.
Professional Maturity. We are looking for students who are professional and serious about contributing to a real-world tech product that has real users. Students who are timely, engaged, and serious about a career in tech.
Written & Verbal Communication. While coding ability is most important, we are also looking for students who have good written and verbal communication skills. Each intern will be working on a team, and good teamwork requires good communication.
Year in School & Work Authorization. We are primarily looking for students who are finishing their 3rd-year and are open to considering full-time roles beginning summer 2023 and eligible for work in the US.
